The story of Angelica

🌱 "Looking forward to your return, Angelica, Angelica" hidden in the love of Chinese medicine, delicate and long.
🌱 Angelica sinensis, is the essential medicine of traditional Chinese medicine and blood, and can cure all kinds of diseases, each has its own return. Hence the name Angelica sinensis. As recorded in the Compendium of Materia Medica, "Angelica regulating blood is used as medicine for women, which means to think of husband, so it is called Angelica". The Tang poem "flax is a good seed and no one grows it, but it does not return when it returns" is the name that should be returned.

🌱Here is another beautiful legend. It is said that long ago, at the foot of Minshan Mountain and the source of the Wei River, there lived a loving couple. The man was named Jingfu and the woman was called Qin'niang. The couple led a peaceful and contented life.
🌱Not long after, Qin'niang gave birth to a child and suffered from postpartum hemorrhage. Jingfu sought medical treatment everywhere but to no avail. He was very worried. One day, an old Taoist priest came to their door, claiming that he lived at the foot of Mount Emei and was in charge of growing all kinds of herbs and medicines to cure human diseases. If Jingfu was willing to go and seek the medicine, Qin'niang's illness could be cured. Hearing that his wife's illness could be treated, Jingfu was willing to go through fire and water. He comforted Qin'niang and immediately followed the old Taoist priest. After a journey of thousands of miles, they finally arrived at Mount Emei. Here, the mountains were layered upon each other, the clouds were continuous, there were fairy caves and celestial ponds, and strange flowers and fragrant herbs. It was truly a fairyland.

The old Taoist led Jingfu to a thatched hut and pointed to a plant with purple stems, green leaves and white umbellate inflorescences, saying, "This is the herb you are looking for. It is now in bloom. To obtain the medicinal herb, it takes at least three years. This year, you should collect the seeds, and next year, you should grow the seedlings. Only in the third year can you plant them to get the medicinal herb. You also need to fertilize and weed them, and take good care of them. If you are negligent, it will take twice as long."

Jingfu followed the old Taoist's instructions and worked hard under the stars and moonlight. Three years passed, and the plants he had planted bore fruit. He was very happy and prepared to return home to treat Qin Niang. Before leaving, he bid farewell to the old Taoist. The old Taoist tied the plants together and handed them to Jingfu, saying, "Qin Niang is seriously ill and is waiting for you to come back. When you go back, you should give her this herb. When you go back, you should give her this herb." The name "Danggui" originated from this.

The old Taoist wrote a prescription and gave it to Jingfu. Jingfu received the medicine with great gratitude and knelt down to thank his master again. "I wonder if this herb can be grown in my hometown?" The old Taoist hesitated for a moment and said, "To grow this herb, there are three conditions: suitable climate, moist and fertile soil, and a diligent and patient owner. I have observed that your hometown has these three treasures. Here are some seeds for you. I hope you can cultivate them according to the method and relieve the suffering of the people."

🌱 Jingfu bade farewell to master, starry night, half a month later returned home, as expected, Qin Niang illness has been heavy, critical. He immediately prepared the medicine as a prescription and gave it to Qin Niang, and her condition improved immediately. He soon recovered. They were so grateful that they planted the medicine seeds that the old Taoist man had given them in accordance with the law. Three years later, they were planted into Angelica sinensis, which was planted everywhere at the foot of Min Mountain and the shore of Tao Wei, and the smell was intoxicating.
